Those four words have changed lives. No, honestly. That idea was actually part of the reason Doris and Don Fisher founded Gap and it’s become a go-to rallying cry for us. If your passion is retail, here’s a chance to come work with us.
We’re taking applications for our Retail Management Program (RMP). It’s designed to give future leaders a first-hand look inside the business.
It’s a nine-month cross-brand program, with rotations in Inventory Management, Merchandising and Production. This corporate position allows employees to fully understand our business through on-the-job assignments, classroom sessions and store experiences.
The RMP concept came from a group of executives looking for the best ways to groom talented people with leadership potential. After finishing the program, graduates get the opportunity to work full time in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since the program started in 1998, graduates have built careers at many levels throughout the company – from assistant to vice president.

Graduates say it’s a lot of work, and that they wouldn’t change a thing. They talk about being surprised by the level of ownership in running the business, by the exposure to people with different roles across the company and by the confidence they gained from hands-on experience.
So what do you think? Is RMP for you? Click here to apply. Just search “RMP” in the keywords field.

Just wondering how come Gap in NYC does not have any kind of program for college students?
