Gap Inc. Proud to be a Best Corporate Citizen

Corporate Responsibility Magazine has ranked Gap Inc. 13th in its list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2012, and 2nd among apparel companies.

The magazine crunched a lot of numbers before making its list. Companies were evaluated for their work on Climate Change, Corporate Governance, Employee Relations, Philanthropy, Human Rights and other factors that gauge our impact on the world.

Based on all that, we’re proud to be noted one of 2012’s best, particularly after seeing we ranked 1st overall in the areas of Human Rights and Corporate Governance.

“Do What’s Right” is one of our founding principles. It’s a mantra for us.  We are proud of CR’s recognition of our efforts to apply business innovations to social and environmental challenges around the world.

So thanks, CR Magazine, for recognizing what we’ve done. We’ll see you in 2013.

I find this hard to fathom. I have been communicating with your customer service agents about an item you have listed as on sale. The regular price of the item is $24.94. The sale price is $24.97. You are charging customers an additional $0.03 for an item that is supposed to be on SALE. When I inquired, I all I was told was that the original price was supposed to be $24.94 (which I had stated in my original email) and was offered a 10% discount. I find that a slap in the face to a customer who regularly makes $300 - $500 purchases on your credit card. I have $500 worth of clothing in my shopping cart right now but I have lost all confidence in your company. I never thought to look to see if you are charging more during your sales. That is a terrible thought to me when I look at how much money I have spent over the years. I usually wait for sales when I make my purchases too. Oh, and 10%? You regularly promote 20% to 30% Off offers. Why would I be happy with a 10% Off offer with no explanation?
