Sure, the Queen of England’s crown is chock full of jewels.
But you know what would make it rule? Denim.
Yep, designing a Gap-ified, blue jean-inspired royal headpiece is just one of the fun ways our London HQ team kicked-off their own 2012 Diamond Jubilee festivities.
Celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 60-year reign, Gap Londoners partied with a week-long host of entertaining events. The UK office was decked out with bunting and flags while employees participated in a crown-making competition (the denim design won the “Most Gap” category). And a deliciously fierce “Great British Bakeoff” cake contest followed.
The good times culminated in a Friday afternoon happy hour at “Pimms o’clock” to get in the celebratory mood before the weekend blowout.
I can’t think of a more awesome way to celebrate Gap’s own milestone anniversary – 25 years in Europe this year and, well, 203 company-operated stores in Europe at the end of 2011.
Anyhow, here’s a peek at some of the clever creations to honor the Jubilee:

Go, Jubilee
How much can I buy the denim crown for? That's awesome!
