GQ for Gap, A Partnership Fit for Fall

Give it a few years and they could be among the most well known designers in the world. But right now – specifically this fall – you have a chance you say you knew (and maybe wore) their designs back in the day.

We’re talking about GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers in America for 2012. The group consists of six relatively new, up-and-coming designers. Each has a penchant for great ideas. GQ, which we can all agree knows quite a bit about style, says these designers will help shape the future of menswear.  That future starts now, with a Gap partnership.

That’s right. The best in designer menswear is right here.

“GQ for Gap” is the largest menswear partnership Gap has ever done. Matthew Swanburg, Senior Merchandiser for Gap Men’s Bottoms and Accessories, says the partnership showcases how the men’s business has changed. “It’s great to have a partnership that focuses solely on the men’s business and speaks to the fashion-conscious male customer,” Swanburg says. “Men can trust us to carry product that is on-trend, and to partner with leaders in the fashion space.”

The collection debuted Sept. 27 in select North American Gap stores and on gap.com. Soon, it will be available in the UK, China and Japan. The limited edition collection includes everything from hats, belts and tees, to mohair cardigans, pea coats and parkas. The prices (ranging from $20 - $348) are just as varied.

“These designers are shaping the future of menswear,” says Mark Breitbard, head of merchandising for Gap North America. “It’s our honor to bring their distinct visions to life in a way that complements Gap’s casual American point of view.”

The future of men’s fashion is available right now. If you want to do some window-shopping, the collection is featured in a 14-page spread in October’s GQ magazine.

I work at The Gap Outlet at Carsbad, Ca.. I would like to suggest to get a few flat TV's and have shows as to how to put clothing together... or just keep customers happy while they are on line to pay for their stuff... maybe a game so we do not loose them so they can watch a game....
Just wanted to put my opinion as to keep our customers happy, for whatever it's worth it !!!!

I really wish that this line was available in-store in Canada. I've had a lot of people ask if we'll be receiving this collaboration in-store. They were quite upset to learn that they had to order online, and I don't blame them because I'm upset as well.

Love this! Love all things Gap. My children have all been thoroughly clothed via Gap Kids for many years. . and they look darn good! :)

One problem: I used to wear Gap Simply White on a daily basis. Went through bottles and bottles. Got compliments wherever I would go. . .seriously. It smells amazing. And apparently it no longer exists. NOOOOOO! Say its not true! Is it? Is there anywhere I can still get Gap Simply White? And if not, my goodness why not??? As one of Gap's best selling fragrances (at least where I shopped - they were forever running out) I can't imagine why it would quit being made. Can anyone help me with this?

Many thanks!
